FIORE SKYLIGHTS units are available in an assortment of architectural
finishes. This basic unit comes with a "mill finish" or untreated aluminum.
Other frequently specified finishes include clear anodized, bronze
or black anodized. Other special finishes such as kynar ( fluoropolymer
coating) and powder coating are available upon request. Choosing a
finish is dependent on design factors, climate, durability factors
and personal taste.
Glazing
FIORE
SKYLIGHTS are available in a variety of glazing types and colors with
various thermal qualities. Your choice can effectively reduce your
heating and cooling energy consumption. Thermal conductance is defined
in terms of "U" or "R-Values" which have been used traditionally to
figure heat loss and gain of a building to aid in the design of heating
and cooling systems. Insulated glazing will greatly improve a skylights
thermal performance. (See Table 1)

Other factors in your glazing choice are light transmission, solar energy
transmission and the shading coefficient. The range of values lets the
glazing specifier select the density that most effectively satisfies the
interrelated requirements for adequate daylights illumination and control
of solar heat gain. As the color saturation, or tint, of each transparent
acrylic sheet increases, the control of the solar heat and glare becomes
more effective. (See Table 2)
